Hot Wachula’s, was founded in Lakeland, Florida in March 2000 by Matthew Barber, a former advertising executive turned entrepreneur. What started off as a hobby in the kitchen, Hot Wachula's quickly grew and expanded into a successful gourmet food manufacturing company with over 30 of its own products. We have been featured on NBC's The Today show and recognized as a trend setter in the spicy food industry. In 2009 Hot Wachula’s decided to take on the Professional BBQ circuit. Matthew quickly became one of the top BBQ pitmasters in the World. Winning over 85 Grand and Reserve Grand Championships and 2 time Florida Barbecue Association’s coveted Team of the year. Most recently winning the World Championship in Brisket at the 2019 American Royal Invitational.
So what makes our sauces different from our competition? Prepared with care in small batches with fresh, all natural ingredients, Hot Wachula's sauces aren't watered down like the rest. And they're made from scratch, without thickeners or artificial flavors, to ensure the highest quality and most authentic taste. All of our products are all natural and gluten free. We don't make thousands of gallons at a time. Our focus is on quality and flavor and that takes time, patience and some very talented taste buds.
